Where do pleasure and confidence come from?
Authenticity.
And truthfully, we are not taught to be sexually authentic. We are taught to squeeze ourselves into the restrictive definitions given to us by culture, religion, family, our partners, etc.
So many women I work with start their sexuality journey thinking a special new sex toy, a particular outfit, or even class will get them in touch with their pleasure. There's nothing wrong with this! This can be the way for some people.
However, what I've found most effective is turning within and finding your way back to the authentic embodied experience of pleasure in you. This happens through the body. It is a simple (not always easy) remembering of your root sexual power, pleasure, love.
This is a process of returning to sensation. Returning to the knowing that is safe to feel. It is luscious to be in your body. It is juicy to experience pleasure. The body must learn this step by glorious step, through sensation. Movement, breath, and sound.
In the video below, I offer a simple practice to begin awakening this source of pleasure, confidence, and authentic sexuality: |
